About Us

Footsteps Unlimited is owned and operated by Margo Robbins, a Yurok Tribal member living on the upper Yurok Reservation.  Continuing the customs and traditions of my ancestors is a responsibility and privilege that I think about daily. Knowledge of plant medicine was given to me as a gift by God, the Creator.  It took many years of searching out elders, and studying herb books to get to the point where I am able to share this gift with others.  Medicinal herbs are natural remedies with no side effects.......unlike modern synthetic drugs.

Acorn soup is a traditional food of numerous Native American tribes, that not many people know how to make. Acorns are an extremely healthy food source, and elders love them.  I am so happy to be able to offer "instant" acorn soup" for those who do not have access to acorns, or are unable to gather and prepare acorns themselves.

Eating healthy includes eating natural foods with high nutrition value.  Acorns have vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and protein...everything a body needs to be healthy.  Native American Indians ate acorns on a daily basis and lived long, healthy lives.  It is my hope that acorns will once again, be a staple part of our diet.

The jewelry gift items on this website are a combination of the old, and the new.  They are made with natural materials used traditionally, and modern materials as well

Native American tribes utilized the environment around them to provide for all of their needs.  In today's modern world, we seek to find a balance in our lives.  When I was a young girl I was taught to weave baskets by an elder.  Through the years I have perfected this skill, and am now able to offer traditional Native American baskets to those who don't have the time, materials, or knowledge to weave their own baskets.  Making baskets is a healing experience.  Whether I am making baby baskets for my grandchildren, or small baskets for sale, there is something about weaving that is soothing to the soul.  I am thankful to carry on this ancient tradition.

The Creator provided us with everything we need to not only survive, but thrive.  We can utilize the natural resources from the environment to heal our bodies and restore our health.  Acorns can, and should be a part of healthy eating patterns.  Acorns are filled with nutrition, and now easily available ...on this website.

Knowledge of the earth's gifts has been passed down from one generation to the next, and now it is our turn to share what we know so that others may benefit from it.
